Today was the day; Thirty long moons had passed since her visit to the human world. With a wistful sigh, Twilight reluctantly admitted to herself hat she missed her human friends. There was an odd, charming quality about her human friends. And even though she interacted with them the exact same way she did with her friends, there was a different feel around them.
Twilight thought to herself about what made them different from her own friends, adding more reasons to her list of why she should at least visit Canterlot High. She thought of the obvious like it's what friends do, and they' were probably missing her a lot more than she was. After all, Twilight has friends just like them, and they don't have her specifically. There was an alleged "twin sister," but Pinkie did say she lived in the city. Plus the fact that their version of Twilight still seemed to be in her antisocial shut-in phase made it less likely of them befriending her easily.
Or maybe it was the fact that she subconsciously missed being a human.
Whatever it the reason was, it was enough to convince her to at least see what they were up to. Just pop in, say hello, stay for a couple of hours, and go back home. She sighed again, taking a deep breath and approaching the magic mirror. "Well, here goes nothing." Bracing herself to be disoriented by the trans-dimensional travelling. Once again she felt herself lose consciousness for a brief minute or so.
Upon waking up, she found herself unable to stand. Her legs buckled every time she tried to stand, and she quickly realized she wasn't bipedal again. Twilight looked at where she expected her hands to appear and was surprised to see small hooves. It didn't take long for her to guess that she was still in pony form.
"Wha- what happened? Why am I so sma-- Why's my voice like this!?" Twilight quickly fell backwards and brought her fore hooves up to her mout, finding it hard to believe that her voice was that high pitched and undeveloped. Her breath quickly sped up, resulting in short, jagged intakes of air that only made her feel worse.
Countless fears and speculations made themselves apparent. What if someone sees me, what if I'm stuck like this forever, and many other "what-ifs" entered her mind, each psyching her out more than the last.
Finally, when her anxiety reached a boiling point, a soft, soothing voice called from nearby. "Are you okay, little fella?" Twilight, both petrified and curious, turned to face whoever spoke to her and was relieved to see a familiar face. "Aww, Applejack never told me her horse had a foal. You're a long way from Sweet Apple Acres."
"Oh, Fluttershy, I'm glad you-- wait, what are you doing?" As if Fluttershy ignored Twilight's attempts to communicate, she grabbed the tiny pony and cradled her up to her chest.
Fluttershy examined the small creature in front of her, its lavender coat, purple eyes, and hair reminding her of Twilight. The human girls gasped slightly and stepped back, noticing both the horn atop its head and the wings on its sides. "Wings and a horn? What the? You're not from around here, are you?" Fluttershy glanced towards the school's statue, remembering how Twilight Sparkle came and went to their universe. Quickly piecing the small details together, leaving her to ask, "Twilight, is that you?"
