After looking over Victoria’s file a couple times, Lisa set it down on Tina’s desk and began signing agreement on the page in the file. Tina did a great job of containing her enthusiasm for a couple reasons. The first was now she only had one special client left to fill by the end of the day. The company had a backup plan where she would switch with the last client in order to avoid any lawsuits. With Ms. Cooper’s life having just been sold, Tina would get to become Amber Knights. Of course she would give up Amber’s old career and resume her duties here at the Nexus while Amber took her slightly older body and a severance package. Tina could care less what she did with it.
After Lisa finished signing all the blocks on the user agreement, Tina handed her another stack of papers that included a contract. Lisa briefly looked over it before signing it.
Tina began looking at the scheduler for the Nexus. “I can get you in first thing tomorrow morning. We’re quite booked, but special clients have the first priority.” Tina said as she started typing and reserving a transference room on the company’s scheduling software.
Lisa was happy and excited. Tomorrow morning, she would get most of what she wanted in life handed to her. She wasn’t even sure if she would be able to go to sleep. “I can’t wait” Lisa told Tina while barely containing her enthusiasm.
As Lisa walked out of the office and towards the waiting room, Tina also grinned as she no longer had to hide her own enthusiasm. Getting out of her chair, she walked over to a vanity mirror in the corner of her office and examined herself. She had her dark red hair in a professional bun while wearing a peach blouse and a black skirt under a white lab coat. Taking the lab coat off, Tina began turning different angles to examine the form she wouldn’t have for much longer. At 31, Tina was in great shape and could often be mistaken for someone who was still in their mid-twenties. She wasn’t fat or ugly, men usually passed her over as she looked average. Tomorrow, she wouldn’t have to worry about sleeping in an empty bed again.
