It was just another normal day for the students of Hollywood Arts, or at least as normal as things got for the future actresses and artists of America.
Robbie Shapiro was taking advantage of his free period to practice line with his puppet Rex, he was hoping to get a part in the upcoming school play where his character would kiss Cat’s.
Unfortunately for the pale, nerdy teen he’d never even get his chance to audition, but that would soon be the least of his worries.
“Stephanie, would you please go to midnight ball with me?” Robbie asked, quoting a line from the play Hollywood Arts was working on this weekend.
“I would but I don’t think you're my type. In case you forgot I’m a puppet.” Rex said, teasing his owner and breaking his conversation.
“I thought you hated being called a puppet.” Robbie said.
“It’s ok if I say it.” Rex laughed.
“This isn’t funny! I need to know these line by tomorrow or else I’ll never get this part.” Robbie argued, no longer focusing on the script.
“Please, you’d be lucky if you got it at all.” Rex teased, implying that Robbie was a horrible actor right to his face.
“Never-mind, let’s pick on pg-7. Hamilton picks up the book and reads ‘knirhs em.’ then he begins to feel strange.” Robbie said, reading the script the way it was written.
“Wh-what the? What kind of language is that?” Robbie asked aloud, before he begun to feel strange himself.
“Rex, what’s happening to me.” Robbie asked in a panic, trying to control the lever that opened Rex’s mouth as his hand shrunk inside.
“The heck if I know, do I look like some witch doctor to y-” unable to finish the last word, his hand to small and Rex becoming too heavy for him to hold.
Robbie released Rex, allowing him to fall onto the floor in front of him, meanwhile his own body continued to shrink in size by the second.
“This is crazy, am I actually shrinking?” Robbie panicked, worried about how he could get someone's attention to help him at such a tiny size.
Finally he stopped shrinking at an inch tall in height, so small that he could easily be mistaken for a bug by any normal sized person.
That’s when he noticed the script that he was just reading from laying on the floor in front of him, running up to the sentence he just read.
“Do not read until the actual play or without a female partner, spell to return you to normal size on the female version of the script.” Rabbie read, written in a font half the size of the previous text.
“Wow, you think they would have put something like that somewhere I’d see it!” Robbie yelled, realizing he’d have to get Cat’s attention since she was the only person he knew of with the female version of the script.
Just then as if on cue Robbie looked towards the door to see_________ entering the room.
