This choice: A soldier assigned to a small sentry station on the edge of the cluster. • Go Back...Chapter #3A soldier assigned to a small sentry station on... by: Adeptus Astartes   You are Lieutenant Sarah Walker, a 30-year old career military officer from Earth, overlooked for a promotion and now assigned to the sentry station on the X176 asteroid on the edge of the Velusian Cluster.

When your ship touched down on the surface of what would be your new home for the next six months, you were unimpressed. The largely nickel-iron asteroid did have several structures and a few other inhabitants, but none were human... or military. Apart from that, it was a barren piece of rock, and you felt like you were being punished by being stationed here for so long. "Seems like my dad's failures as an officer are being passed onto me!" you sighed, referring to your deceased father's disonorable discharge from the military.
Idly scratching your head, you looked around and then set off towards the nearest alien to ask for directions. You had selected Tela Vesir, a female alien from the Alvani race. Green in skin color, the Alvani were all taller than humans by at least a foot, if not more. Their large oval eyes made for perfect vision, and their pointed ears provided them with excellent hearing. All Alvani also had agility and courage in abundance. Females were easily identifiable from the males, who were actually subservient to the females, and less 'intimidating' in appearance.
"Excuse me?" you asked nervously, looking up at the 7 ft tall alien. Luckily your translator worked perfectly.
The Alvani, Tela, turned around slowly, and a smirk appeared on her strange... yet beautiful face. "Ahh, human!" she said, her voice sounding like a mix of male and female human voices. "What can I do to assist hmm?" she then muttered.
You couldn't help but feel 'tiny' standing in front of this 'woman'. Nonetheless, you put on a brave face. "Yeah, I'm looking for the Tiger01 outpost!" you told Tela, who seemed to hesitant before answering.
"That way! Its... 'almost' impossible to get lost on this pathetic piece of rock I assure you" Tela mumbled, gesturing off to her right.
"That bad here huh?" you sighed, letting your shoulders drop while keeping hold of your bag.
Tela smiled again. "This is one of the sorriest places to be assigned to in the whole galaxy human, I thought everyone knew that. Nothing ever happens here, well... things might pick up now that we've managed to smuggle a... oh... never mind" Tela stopped herself, looking to the ground.
