I pulled out mom's name out of the cup. I showed it to the rest of the family.
"Great Jack, that means Maddy and Emma will swap." Mom said smiling.
"Cool!" Emma said grinning.
"That's nice." Maddy said smiling too.
The only one who wasn't smiling was me. I was going to be stuck inside my mom's body. I would turn into a woman double my age.
"Please mom, can't you swap with someone else?" I begged her.
"Jack honey, we all agreed to it. Cheer up, it's not going to be that bad."
Mom could say that easily, she would be able to relive her teenage years.
But there was nothing I could do about it, mom was still in charge of us. So the four of us headed to the machine.
Mom took a look in the instruction manual and told us that you only needed to pull the big red lever to swap. She gave Maddy the order to do it.
Forced by my own family I stepped inside a pod while my mom stepped inside the other. For the last moment I looked at my body, before Maddy pulled the switch.
