Chapter #2

Who Needs Modern? We've Got Everything Else

Here are some characters I've come up with. Feel free to add your own!

1) Saul (14) and Tomas (10). Saul has just completed his first year at the Mages Academy, and is on his annually-allowed trip back home to visit his family. After dinner, he tries to show off what he's learned by demonstrating a spell, but it's a dud and nothing happens. Or so he thinks. Later that night, his younger brother Tomas starts to grow, and when Saul finds out, he panics, needing to find a way to undo his mistake!

2) Jonas (16) and Zander (13). The two boys are part of the first wave of colonists on a new, nearly barren planet hundreds of light years from Earth. There are only a few other boys in the colony, and the two brothers often find themselves very bored. One day, to alleviate this boredom, the two go exploring and find a strange grove that's full of plants and fruit, very out of place on this otherwise desolate planet. This fruit isn't just delicious-looking, but it also has some amazing properties that the two boys will soon find out.

3) Shin (14) and Tarou (12). In feudal Japan, these two boys are the sons of a great shogun, and are training to be warriors of their very own. When Tarou starts to sprout up and become both a bigger and a better warrior than he is, Shin starts to become very suspicious and tries to find just what's making Tarou become so big for his age.
