Beast Boy's eyes were about the size of walnuts at this point and he was sitting completely still out of shock. He let out a long breath and said, “Whoa, that is deep.” The changeling stood up and started to pace for a few seconds before finally turning back to The Watcher and saying, “So let me get this straight: I am the latest in a series of reincarnations that were created to destroy a creature that eats life force, and I will do so by using the skills and abilities all of my past lives have acquired?”
“Well, there are a couple of other things. In each of your previous lives you have had at least one lover that your previous lives loved with their whole heart. Those lovers have been reincarnated in modern day and you will meet them along with the lovers that you could have had in this life if The Life Eater were not to awaken,” the Watcher added.
“WHAT!?” Beast Boy yelled out of shock. 'I didn't expect to learn something like that! Everything seemed so serious but now this guy is messing with my love life!' he shouted in his head. He let out a breath and asked, “Are you telling me that I'm going to have a bunch of ex-lovers and a soon-to-be lover fighting over me?”
“Actually, they will be so in love with you that they would be willing to share,” the Watcher answered to the changeling's shock. “In other words you will have a harem of beautiful women. And your ninth life has more than one lover to contribute.” Beast Boy just sat there and stared off into the distance for a good ten minutes before finally grabbing a donut and munching on it.
Five minutes after that, Beast Boy finally asked, “What do I have to do?”
The Watcher could tell he was referring to both the previous lives and the lovers and answered, “Let's deal with your previous lives first. Now I need you to open your mind and clear it of all thoughts. This will make the process of adding the psyches of your previous lives and the extra skills I'm adding in a lot more easy going. As for the women, your other selves will recognize them but they won't recognize you until you open their minds to their previous life. They will be very attracted to you so that will make opening their minds a lot easier.”
“What do you mean?” Beast Boy asked.
The Watcher smirked and replied, “The easiest way of opening their minds is to kiss them.”
“Oh,” was the changeling's reaction. “I should have guessed it would be something like that.”
The Watcher nodded and said, “I can tell you are still a little dazed about everything, so I'll give you time to think things over. I will open your mind and download the previous lives when you are ready. Take your time.” He then got up and went over to a bookshelf that appeared a few feet away and took out a book.
Beast Boy sat in his chair and thought to himself, 'My life just got a lot more complicated. Well more complicated than it already is.' A few minutes of thinking about his current situation and all that he has learned and one question came to his mind, 'I wonder who is going to be in my harem.'
Over with the Watcher, he was thinking to himself, 'This is probably one of the weirdest things I have ever done.' He looked at Beast Boy, who seemed to be getting used to the idea, and concluded, 'He is the most deserving of my gifts. From what I can see of the alternate timeline where I kill the Life Eater myself, his heart gets broken more times than should be allowed.' After about ten minutes, the Watcher sees Beast Boy is back to the way he was before and decides it's time. The Watcher replaces the book, walks over to Beast Boy and asks, “Are you ready?”
“Let's do it,” Beast Boy replied.
