Lucy Harrision was your average 14 year old girl in most respects. She was in eight grade, about to enter high school. She hung out with friends and went to the movies, went shopping....normal teenage things. But she was alone among her friends in one respect. She wanted to remain a child. She had always had these feelings but now that she was about to enter high school, they were much stronger. There was no doubt she was getting older. No more middle school, she was to be a high school student. She envied her 6 year old sister, Jessica, who was still in kindergarten. In fact, she would often play dolls or house with her sister and her friends instead of going out. She was considered a "big little girl" jokingly by her sister's friends and accepted as just another playmate. They even made her try on her sister's nightgown that used to be hers when she herself was 6. They all got a good laugh but she almost cried since she had missed that nightgown so much. She was still small for her age, but not significantly smaller than the other girls and she certainly wasn't the smallest. She did, however, still have her little girl cuteness, which had yet to mature into a woman's figure. She often wanted to be the little sister. To be even younger than her sister. She wasn't sure what to do. But she had to do something. Jessica came skipping into Lucy's room one Sunday morning and jumped on her bed to wake her. "Hiya sis! Mornin! Hey, you wanna go play at the park today?! Please! My friends and I wanna go and mommy said it'd be ok if you took us!" She looked over at her clock. It was just about to turn 8:00. She yawned. "Jessica, how do you get up so early and have so much energy?" Jessica just smiled, "I've been up watching cartoons since 7. Mommy said you usedta be the same when you were little." Lucy realized that was true. Where had her youthful energy and anticipation for a brand new day gone? She sighed. "Alright little girl. Get dressed and I'll take you guys." Jessica smiled and kissed her sister before hopping off her bed and running down the hall to tell her friends who had slept over the night before. She didn't have much time to dress or eat since the girls were all hurrying her. She threw on a sundress and combed her hair and managed to grab a banana before she was pushed out the door. She joined the 6 year olds in holding hands and skipping down the sidewalk to the park
