Chapter #6

Following Lydia

    by: Unknown
You decide to stick with Elisa as she flies over the town and follows after Lydia. “You know, Lydia,” says Elisa. “It wouldn’t kill you to bury the hatchet with Helga. If you too agreed to work together, then that fire wouldn’t have burned down half the lodge. Lydia gave a scoff. “Well,” you say. “Maybe you and Helga should work together. After all, the two of you on your own can’t possibly earn the money to fix Grimmsly Lodge in only 7 days. How much money do you even need to earn.” Elisa gives a snort. “Well,” she says. “Considering how much damage was done, I’d say 100,000 skulls.” “Seriously?” you ask in surprise. “That much? Lydia. You’re in over your head. You should jut find Helga and...”

Lydia casts a spell that makes your mouth disappear and you grunt and groan as the kamaitachi lets out a scoff. “I would rather be handcuffed to Persephone Howler for 13 years than work with that no account gadget head. I can get that money all by myself.” “Lydia!” yells Elisa. “Be realistic. You can’t earn that much money in 7 days by yourself. If you ask me, Azure is being a tad unreasonable with her demands. Lydia gives a scoff before she enters the outskirts of Thrillerville. “I know what I’m doing. Just get off my case and let me make the money my way.” Lydia stomps away as your mouth grows back and you give a deep breath. “That weasel is so stubborn.” You say. Elisa gives a grunt. “Well,” she says. “If she’s going to be that way, we should leave her alone to make her own mistakes. After what happened, she’ll be lucky if Azure doesn’t decide to evict her.” “Evict her?” you ask. “Elisa, Azure looked ready to kill her and Helga both.” Elisa nods her head and then the bahamut hears her big hippopotamus-like belly growl loudly. Elisa taps her stomach and lets out a sigh. “Come on,” she says. “We’ll leave Lydia to stew in her own juices. I’m hungry.”

Elisa stomps up towards a revolving sushi restaurant and plunks herself down in three chairs at once as she begins picking up plates of sushi and gives you a piece of tuna to eat. You turn and see a sign that reads “Help Wanted”. “Hmmm,” you say. “Maybe Lydia or Helga could find a job working here.” Elisa gave a scoff. “Are you kidding? I wouldn’t trust a witch to cook my dinner.” “Elisa,” you say. “This is a sushi shop. No cooking required.” Elisa nods her head as she continues to rack up the plates and even gives a belch. You then hear even more ravenous sounds and see that next to you and Elisa is a bespectacled minotaur giantess with a striped body resembling the pattern of an okapi, a relative of the giraffe, of which is in the same order as bovines. She had long brown hair with silver highlights and she was devouring sushi like it was going out of style. Elisa gave a whistle. “And I thought I had a big appetite.”

The minotaur woman stops eating sushi and turns to face Elisa. “I couldn’t help but overhear,” she says. “You know somebody looking for a job?” You step back in caution. After all, all the minotaurs you knew ate humans and you were afraid this giantess would think you were a tasty treat. The minotaur gives a scoff. “Tell him not to get overheated. I don’t eat humans. In fact, I’m married to one. Anyway, I have three sons and daughter-in-laws who run a restaurant in Direopolis. It’s a good place but after eating here, I’m going to ask them to put sushi on the menu. Getting back on track. One of my daughters-in-law injured herself the other day and they’re looking for a temporary delivery girl. If you know somebody who can do deliveries, I could put in a good word. Trust me, those three boys of mine know better than to argue with me.” Elisa and you blink and actually think about this. “That’s actually a good idea,” you say. “Thanks, Mrs...” The minotaur woman swallows a live eel before speaking. “Viola Poe,” she says. “If your friend shows up and still is looking for a job, don’t hesitate to ask for my help. But it’s got to be before five. I’m heading back to Direopolis today.” With that, Viola gets her big butt off of the 4 damaged stools she was sitting on, pays for her sushi and leaves.

You and Elisa begin to consider recommending Lydia to Viola and her sons when Lydia comes into the sushi shop.

You have the following choices:

1. She Comes Back Empty Handed from Job Searching

2. Surprisingly She Already Has All the Money
