Luckily, he was walking at a much more leisurely pace, if he had been running there's no way you would have been able to catch him for a swap. Thinking about that gives you an idea. If you were to swap lives with him, you should gain all of his abilities, including his speed. The only issue then would be that you'd end up naked except for shoes and gloves. Still, there was a clothes swap button so you could probably fix that one you had his life. You'd also probably need to do some other adjustments if you took his life, since you don't really want him dating Zelda instead of you. The more you think about it, the more you think life swapping with Sonic might be a bit more of a hassle than you first thought what with all the adjustments. Perhaps a simple body swap would be better. You're not sure if taking Sonic's body would give you his speed, but it's worth a try. At the very least, you won't lose Zelda.
