While the fact that Lucario did not appear to be in your shared room made the process of storing the box and manual unnoticed rather easier, it did mean that you were out of a test subject. Not that those were exactly hard to find. In fact, if you just went about your day you were certain that you would eventually find someone to try the remote out on.
