Chapter #3

Fox

You are Fox McCloud, the leader of the Star Fox team and expert spaceship pilot. As a veteran of Smash Bros., you had seen your fair share of odd individuals as well as interacted with them. Hailing from a multitude of different worlds, the paticipants were many and varied, with strange and unique backgrounds and fighting styles. However, it was also the reason why you sometimes had difficulties making friends with newcomers.

One of the most recent additions had been particularly hard for you to become friends with; a young adult human boy who went by the name of 'Joker'. From what you could gather, he came from a world where certain individuals could harness the power of something called a 'Persona'; a kind of manifestation of someone's hidden inner strength, or something like that.

You could certainly attest to his prowess; you were currently on your way back to the room which you presently shared with Mewtwo, having just been defeated by Joker in a match.

You sighed. Even Mewtwo was more sociable than Joker was at the moment. Of course, as a veteran of previous tournaments, Mewtwo had had a lot of interactions with other Smashers, (yourself included), and while he could seem to be grumpy most of the time, he was certainly not unsociable. It was just tricky to find something to talk to him about.

Joker, on the other hand, had not had many interactions with other fighters yet; not that surprising since he literally only joined the roster yesterday. He still seemed to be a little on edge with some of the other fighters; mostly the non-human ones. You strongly suspected this to be because of the fact that he was often fighting against bizarre creatures called Shadows back in his own world. Some of these Shadows could take the forms of knights, animals, mythical beings, ect. Since there were plenty of Smashers that fit those descriptions, you could understand why he might feel a bit uneasy here. If only there was some way to help him to understand the other fighters a little better...

Your thoughts were interrupted when you felt one of your boots hitting something. It was some sort of package. With your curiosity being peaked, you decided to open it. The package contained an odd-looking remote and a piece of paper with instructions. As you read through the instructions, you were a bit dubious at first; a remote that could allow whoever was holding it to swap bodies, clothes, lives and other things with someone else, seemed to be completely ridiculous! Then again... You had seen Master Hand and his crazy brother making all kinds of weird stuff happen during the Smash Tournaments. A remote with such power wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility in comparison.

You felt your tail swish with anticipation as you realized what this meant. Perhaps you could use this remote to help Joker feel more at ease with everyone! The only question was how to best go about it...
You thought hard about the options available. You could of course try to swap bodies between Joker and yourself, or with one of the non-human fighters, but you didn't think that this was a good idea. It might make things worse for him instead of better.

You could also try to swap yourself with one of the human Smashers and then approach Joker that way. Sure; you might feel weird if you decided to swap bodies with a human, but it might be the best way to make Joker feel completely home here.
As you stood there in contemplation, it suddenly struck you that you didn't even know if the remote actually worked; it could still be a prank! And even if it wasn't, there was no guarantee that it could even reverse any possible swaps that was made with it! You certainly didn't want to swap Joker with someone, if you were unable to swap him back again.

You had no choice; you had to test the remote with yourself to see if it was reliable enough. You just had to find someone else to swap with. You didn't have to speculate about whom you should test it with, as your keen ears picked up approaching footsteps coming down the corridor. You decided to make the test-swap with whoever it was. The footsteps got gradually closer and closer before making it around the corner and you saw that it was...

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Mewtwo, your current roommate

*Noteb*
2. Link, the Hero of Hyrule

3. Little Mac, the ace boxer

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
