Chapter #4Experienced - 1 inch by: Vintovka You look up at your giant friend from the floor. While it's true that Danielle towered over you before, the height difference was almost obscene now. Just a few seconds ago she was head and shoulders taller than you, and now she's... well, everything taller than you. The sole of her high-heeled shoe comes up to just above your knees, and you can't even look over the shoe's toe.
"It worked!" she exclaims, peering down at you with a wide-eyed stare. Gently she slides one of her feet forward, planting her shoe's heel next to you so that you can compare heights. The shoe's heel is easily three times as tall as you, though when you look up your eyes are drawn to her stark white calf. "Now do you believe me?" she asks, an enormous smile plastered on her face.
"I... I'm not sure how you did this, Dani," you being. "Granted it's a really convincing illusion, I admit, but there has to be some trick to it. You put a camera on the floor and I'm looking through it, right? And somehow I'm controlling it? C'mon, if I guess how you did it let me know."
"Nope, no trick!" she says, pulling her foot back. "I'm a wizard and I shrank you, simple as that. Search your heart, you know it to be true! Look at how I tower over you, listen to my undoubtedly booming voice!" She beams down at you, letting you bask in the majesty of her sheer size. "Hold on a second, I think I know what will finally convince you and let me get an accurate measure of your height, little guy!"
Danielle steps away from you and walks over to a nearby shelf, her heels' impact on the hard wood floor reverberating around you. Quickly she picks up a little figure, palms it, and strides back toward you, closing the monumental gap between you with only two steps. Carefully she gathers her robe up under herself and kneels down, her bony knees sounding off with an impact similar to that of her heels. She leans in, her pretty face looming over you like a billboard as her hair spills over her shoulders like a waterfall.
In her hand she holds one of her wargaming figures from a game you played together, which you knew to be 28mm in height. She sets it down and slides it next to you with her index finger, then gently prods you with the same so that you stand up on the figure's base. You're now sharing space with what you used to jokingly call a "tiny pewter man" that's nearly a head taller than you. Looking towards Danielle, who still looms over you with the largest smile and brightest eyes you've ever seen, you see her measuring you and the figure, and comparing your relative heights.
"An inch!" she booms, lowering her face towards you and staggering you backwards. Demurely she covers her mouth and leans closer, bringing her narrow, wire-frame glasses mere inches from you. "Sorry," she apologizes, "I got a bit carried away. An inch, though! You're really small! Tiny, even! I mean if I were as powerful as my character you'd be as small to that model as you are to me right now, but it's a start!" You look at Danielle, trying to take in the totality of her size compared to you, then at the model, and then back at Danielle again, attempting to comprehend just how small that would be and how gargantuan she would be if that were true.
"Do you believe me now?" she asks. You look around for where you would be otherwise and see no sign of your body, and mull over the fantastic scale of the woman above and in front of you. Reluctantly you shrug and nod, admitting that she is a real wizard and she has definitely shrunk you down to an inch. "Mmm, I thought that'd be convincing. Lucky for you, too: I've always had a thing for shorter guys, and they don't get much shorter than you. I mean not that they did before, but. You know." She blushes and turns away for a second to hide her flustered embarrassment.
"Now what?" you ask, trying to get her attention back to you.
Danielle rests her hand before you, idly laying her thumb and forefinger around you. "I don't know, little guy," she coyly responds. "My table's all set up and we have the whole room to ourselves, though..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
