Ash is just waking up from the S.S Anne incident from season 1 episode 15, where Misty wasn't on any of his adventures. And as Ash recovers from the sinking of the S.S. Anne he finds himself on an island full of women. His on hand pokemon would be Pickachu, Butterfree, Pidgeotto, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. For those who don't know the original six pokemon.
