Chapter #6Helpful Link, but not enough? by: Kooplan Link smiled. "Okay." He nodded. "Let's see what's in this thing."
"Oh, thank you, Link! I'm so glad I could trust you with this!" Zelda gushed happily.
"Don't mention it!" Link said. He went to look through the many pages of the book for a helpful spell. Zelda stood by the book and watched him, hopeful that there would be something that could restore her size written in there.
Time passed, a minute or two at first, but then several went by as Link flipped through the big book of spells and history. Zelda guiding him all the while, answering questions about the contents of the pages and other things. Together they worked to find any sort of spell that might help the shrunken girl restore herself to her former height. But they both were getting tired, as it was quite late. Zelda's memory of the ancient text was starting to get blurred, and Link was sure they'd been over some of the pages multiple times already.
"I'm sorry, Link." Zelda apologized as time wore on. Even though she was the one stuck small, she couldn't help but feel bad for dragging Link into her mess. "I can't get a good translation on some of these pages anymore. I wish there were some sort of index we could use."
"Me too.: Link agreed, turning away from the book to yawn. "But, wait, you don't need to apologize. It's not like you meant to make yourself this small, right?"
Zelda blushed. "Y-Yeah..."
Link and Zelda looked through some more of the book. Zelda now took minutes to translate a single page and, even though she didn't tell Link, she wasn't completely sure of her translation skills. She knew enough of the language to translate, but as tired as she was now, she couldn't be sure. As much as she didn't like being tiny like this, she also just wished she could get some well needed shut-eye. But she, and Link, pressed on. Both remaining ever hopeful that the spell to restore Zelda would be found soon.
Link yawned again as time wore on. "But, doesn't it make sense that Hylia would have wanted to be able to restore herself at some point?" Link asked, almost absentmindedly as he flipped through the pages. "So there should be something in here that can help you out."
"I think so too. But there's a lot to cover with a book this big." Zelda pointed out.
"Oh yeah, it must be pretty big to you, huh?" Link asked her, chuckling.
"Hey! Don't make fun of me because I'm small like this!" Zelda shouted, putting her hands on her hips and pouting. "When I get big again, I might just remember this!"
"Okay, alright!" Link laughed at the tiny Zelda's attempts to look tough, at her inches tall stature, she only looked cute. He went back to the book. "So, what do you want to do, then? Any of these spells sound good?"
"Oh, Link, we don't even know if these are spells..." Zelda was about to continue until she read the contents of the pages Link had turned to. "Oh! This is another list of spells."
"Well then, what do they say?" Link asked.
"I'm not sure... Give me a minute to translate them..." Zelda said, climbing on top of the book. She then crawled around the pages, slowly reading and translating it word by word. Link watched her as she did, enjoying her cute little form crawling around on the book.
A few minutes went by as Zelda studied the words carefully. She then stood up, shook her head of her uncertainty, and told Link... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
