"Come along," Nicole Jacobs said. Nicole was a career woman. She'd had her first and only child after she'd gotten a big promotion at work. It was like checking off a box on a list.

Abigail, Abby to her friends, followed her. She was a perky little girl with endless energy and a big imagination.

Nicole held up her photocopied pages from the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World...a plan to see as many rides in as short a space of time as possible. Which rides to get FastPass for, what order, time of day... The manager in her had somehow found a way to take the spontaneity out of the most magical place on Earth.

This was a sharp contrast to the little girl, who was the exact opposite of her. She wanted to have a good time, maybe meet a few princesses. But, she didn't care where she was going. She just wanted to have fun.

They rushed along Main Street USA toward Cinderella's castle. Abby pulled away for a moment.

"Abby...don't wander off...we have a lot to see."

"I want to see the statue," she said, looking up at the status of Walt Disney, smiling, holding Mickey's hand in one hand, and gesturing excitedly with the other.

"That's Walt Disney," Nicole said. "He founded Disney...and built this whole park."

Abby looked at the statue in wonder at the man who created this magical place. Then she felt her mother's hand on her arm. It was time to move on. "Mr. Disney," she thought, as if praying to a higher power, "I wish my mommy would forget about grownup stuff so she could enjoy this place you built."

"Abby...don't dawdle...it's just a statue..."
