Chapter #3

It was nothing

The rumbled intensified and then...faded away.

Well, that was anticlimactic.

Scott put the car in gear and headed straight for the front steps of the house. It was an older house, but that didn't mean it would be easy to get in. That wasn't his number one priority anyway. It wasn't until he had pulled off and parked under the heavy leaves of a rose bush did he feel he was safe. Well, relatively safe anyway. At least he was out of site of giants, and the Malibu should protect him from predatory insects. Yeah, like a shark cage protects the diver from a great white shark.

So, now what?

Never mind the fact that everything was gigantic, never mind the fact that this was all a slap in the face of everything that was taught to him about that being laughably impossible. If only there was a way to find out more about this world.

Hold on, maybe there was. He opened up his backpack and took out his laptop. As soon as it was up and running he began to search for wi fi signals. Much to his surprise he found them, the majority were strong but required a password. All but one. There's always someone who doesn't keep his or her wireless password protected. What did he find out? Not much at first , his own web browser was almost incompatible to what passed for an internet browser. When he did finally manage to gain access to the information highway, the majority of popular sites he knew simply didn't exist. He wasn't sure if that was good or bad.

Despite the setbacks, he did manage to learn what he needed. He learned where he was, the year, the weather and what was happening in this world. As far as politics and worldly affairs go, it was a calmer place than the one he'd left. He was glad for that. Maybe these giants had more sense than to screw up the world.

With a sigh, he closed his laptop and put it away. He looked out at the vast jungle that was the front yard.

"and I resolved that as man had dominated the world of the sun, so I would dominate my world."

There were preparations to make. The forecast he learned bothered him. It called for a lot of rain, maybe thunder showers. Sure, he was probably protected under the leaves of the rose bush but he wasn't sure if he had the high ground. The last thing he wanted was to drown in his car. He looked about. He could drive the car further up the incline, but the leaves were not as thick there. He wasn't sure if his car would take the pounding of giant raindrops. Certainly not the glass. Maybe he could cover the whole car with a leaf.

His other option was more frighting. He could find a way into the house. If insects and spiders can find their way into a house, why not him? Than again, who knows who or what he'll find inside.

He thought for a moment, then made his decision.

You have the following choices:

1. Find a way inside the house.

*Noteb*
2. Stay right where he was.

*Noteb*
3. Move the car to higher ground.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
