Scott drove until he was certain he couldn't be seen. Then he shut the car down and began to shake uncontrollably. He had almost died. Death by giant child foot.
He closed his eyes and could still see the foot in vivid detail. The flat sole, the cute toes, everything.
He wasn't a drinking man, but he sure wished he had one right about then. He breathed deeply, trying to calm himself down. it might've been minutes, maybe hours, but he finally stopped shivering. His hands still shook but he could live with that for the moment. He had bigger things to deal with, like what to do next.
So here he was. Tiny as a bug in a car that was the size of a Hot Wheels, in the bedroom of a "Little" girl that happened to be hundreds of feet tall. And all he had for survival with was what he had in the car. He considered trying to get the girl's attention, but would a child so young understand him or would he be viewed as a weird bug or plaything? Then he thought if there was a child, there had to be a parent. Or an older sibling. Maybe he could try to get help that way. But the reaction might be the same.
Another thought occurred to him. whatever he decided to do, he would have to do it without his car. While traveling by vehicle was faster it wasn't built for all surfaces. It barely drove over carpet. The thought of venturing out in this giant world terrified him. But what choice did he have? Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves, Scott stepped out of his car and opened the back trunk.
He wished he had more resources, but in actuality he had almost nothing. A flashlight, a first aid kit, and assorted tools. He stuffed the first aid kit in his back pocket and put the flashlight into his inside coat pocket.
It took twenty minutes to travel from under the child's bed to the opened door of the bedroom. Scott peered out into the hallway. He would have to stick close to the wall if he had any chance. To his left the hallway ended with a flight of stairs, from what he could see. To his right were a series of doors.
