Finding an identifying fingerprint in the design of the nanites, Jill headed out for the engineer's home. An ankle tag, ensuring she know he's home. The drive is quiet, but the tension mounts, as thinking about the risks. Wondering if there are other cases, she haven't discovered yet. The possibility of shock driving some victims to insanity, or ending up homeless and vulnerable. Worse, their nightmares deepening, as they fall victim to other predators.
Gripping the steering wheel too tight, almost ready to wring the gene-engineer's neck for the chaos he's unleashed.

Transferring his pattern to the portable scanner as she got out the car, entering an underwhelming, run-down apartment complex. The face of Craig Hall looked out from the screen, in a window below that a map flashed with the location of the tag pulsing.
Now quite a large spot the precision wasn't perfect to more than a few metres. Looking around the swimming pool, all of them were within range of the scanner. It stubbornly refused to guide Jill further than the adress itself.
The whole building had clearly seen better days, and there were hints of a different past as a high-end resort still hinted at with some of the features.
This whole case send a shudder down Jill's spine. She got to see exactly how a certain portion of the criminal world saw women as commodities to be bought, sold and upgraded. Sending her colleagues, Officer Crisper, and Bridger to go door to door, and see if they could spot Craig's apartment.
As a bikini-clad woman waved to her from the poolside, she nodded back. Jill thought they were probably the most exciting thing to happen that day, or possibly week. Frustration built as the woman continued to wave her to come closer. A muscle twitched in her clenched cheek, afraid it was only going to be a request for gossip. But, as a potential witness, she couldn't... shouldn't be dismissed.
Plastering an insincere smile on her face, Jill approached the woman, "Hiya..." she called out in her friendliest tone.
