As their massive mom approaches Malcolm knows it is too dangerous to make themselves known right now. She may mistake them for bugs, which could lead to a gruesome end.
"Run!" Malcolm shouts. And the three brothers all sprint in opposites directions. Malcolm and Reese both run under the beds closest to them while Dewey runs to the nightstand that separates the beds.
"Boys!" Lois screams a little louder this time frustrated that they are nowhere to be seen. She then gets down on her hands and knees to see if they are hiding under their beds.
Malcolm runs under the bed undetected and hides behind a toy car. He looks through the fake plastic glass of the toy car's window and sees Lois' giant face staring in his direction. Slightly out of breath in her fury Lois exhales loudly. Her hot breath begins to fog the windows and Malcolm feels like one of the kids trapped by the T-Rex in Jurassic Park. God how he wished it was a dinosaur on the other side of this car over his giant mother.
Reese watches this all take place. Thankful it’s not him over there. Reese's relief is short lived however when a giant ant approaches him and chases him out into the open. He makes it halfway over to Malcolm but the ant is almost on top of him. He turns around and screams when a giant rubber sole comes crashing down on the ant.
"Thank you Mom." Reese says still shaking from shock and fear. Lois doesn't even register what she did and walks forward to the nightstand ahead.
Reese stares up at the mushed remains of the ant in the tread of his mom's shoe as she walks.
"Come on you idiot while the coast is clear." Malcolm says waving over Reese join him.
Reese joins Malcolm completely out of breath.
"Did you see that?" Reese says. "That could have been me?"
"That almost was you." Malcolm answers.
After a few seconds they both peak out to see their mom hunched over something near the nightstand.
"Oh crap! Dewey" Malcolm says. He pulls Reese as they walk forward towards the stand.
Lois bends down and sees something. She picks it up.
