Chapter #3

What does the Zoroark say?

    by: Drez Author IconMail Icon

A Zoroark stood at the very edge of the forest watching the lone human come ever closer. The Zoroark was well-hidden from view. The lone human that was approaching was at least nineteen years old--or maybe even in his late 20's. Zoroark had a hard time telling a human's age by sight. The point was that the human was young but not too young. The human was wearing jeans along with a dark red shirt and a wide-brimmed hat. He had handsome features. He was also pretty buff like he had spent most of the time at a gym--a real gym and not a Pokemon Gym. The Zoroark watched in silence as the human came ever closer. Then the Zoroark noticed that the young human had pokeballs on his belt....which meant he was a trainer.

"[Here comes another human in our midst]" said a rich female voice in Zoroark's head. The Zoroark looked around until she saw her partner-in-crime. A Delphox was a rare sight in the Sinnoh region but not completely unheard of. The Delphox walked up right next to the Zoroark and the pair watched silently as the human entered the forest some 100 feet away from the pair.

"[Don't scare him off]" said the Delphox, speaking via telepathy to the Zoroark.

The Zoroark threw the Delphox a look.

"[At least, not yet]" said the Delphox. "[I sense that he isn't as bad as the last human that wandered into our forest]"

"[That last human was a bad one]" said Zoroark through telepathy. "[what makes this human different?]"

"[I sensed he has a kind heart towards all pokemon]" said the Delphox. "[...and that he comes from the Kalos region.....]"

"[So what's the plan? Do we let him.....stay?]"

"[You wanted human companionship didn't you?]" asked Delphox. "[let's play this by ear for now]"

One Month later.....

"Man, it's great to be back" said Ash Ketchum.

Ash, Dawn and Brock were reunited once again in the Sinnoh region. Ash had heard something about a forest of illusions that had suddenly appeared in the Sinnoh region about two months back. A total of ten trainers had tried to investigate the mysterious forest but they had all come back half-crazy save for one trainer that didn't return. The trainers that did come back talked about meeting up with a dark-skinned pokemon that could create all kinds of realistic illusions. Ash wanted to catch a pokemon like that....it would be cool to own a pokemon that could create illusions.
Dawn had heard about the forest of illusions also and so did Brock.
The three friends had met up in Floaroma Town which was somewhat close to the forest of illusions.
"Pika pi pika chu" chimed in Pikachu who was on Ash's shoulder.
"Piplup pi pip" said Piplup.
"So nobody knows where this mysterious forest came from then?" asked Brock.
"Nope" said Dawn. "one day the forest wasn't there....and then, poof, the forest was suddenly there like it was there all along"
"The nine trainers that came back were all half-crazy" said Ash. "said that there's a pokemon there that could create illusions...."
"Sounds like Zoroark" said Brock thoughtfully.
"I wonder if that's the same one we saw in Crown City" said Ash.
"I doubt it" said Dawn. "there's probably a million Zoroark in the world"
"Well then" said Brock. "should we go and investigate this forest of illusions?"
"I'm all for it" said Dawn.
