Eventually Twilight regained control and stopped eating to focus on the mission at hand: finding her crown before Sunset Shimmer got her hands on it. However when she returned to her senses Lunch was over, she had run out of food to devour, and the cafeteria deserted. All the students went to their classes, including Fluttershy. Spike was the only being who remained with Twilight and he was taking a nap in her backpack. The princess was a little embarrassed to have let herself lose control so easily and seeing her larger than normal gut didn't help. To make things worse she forgot to ask Fluttershy about the Fall Formal. Luckily for her, the animal lover had left her a note with details on where to find the Head of the Fall Formal Planning Committee.
Not bothering to wake up Spike, Twilight took her backpack and followed the instructions to the gym. There were streamers and balloons scattered around but no one seemed to be there. That didn't bother Twilight because her attention was drawn to one of the tables covered with various sweets. For some reason Twilight's appetite had increased since she arrived in this world and she was drawn towards the food. Unable to control herself she grabbed a cupcake and took a bite out of it.
"Sweet Celestia that's good!" Twilight exclaims. She scarfs down the cupcake and grabs another and then another. She couldn't stop herself as she stuffed herself with sweets. She didn't even notice someone walk up behind her.
"Good aren't they?"
"GAH! I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself." Twilight eeped as she dropped the cupcake and turned around to see a girl with big poofy pink hair that reminded her of a friend in Ponyville. She was stunned by how similar she looked however unlike the other humans she had bit of pudge on her.
"It's okay, sometimes I can't help it either. They're super duper good and-wait, are you new here? If so, then I'm Pinkie Pie." she said.
Twilight managed to focus and said, "Um Nice to meet you. I'm Twilight Sparkle and am trying to sign up to become princess of the fall formal."
"Well why didn't you say so. Here you go." Pinkie said as she handed her a clipboard and pen. Twilight wiped some frosting off her face and held the pen in her mouth to write her name while Pinkie helped herself to a cupcake. "Hey listen, I know we just met and you probably have a bunch of stuff to do but I was wondering if you could help me taste the food for the dance. I can't choose which snacks I should get and could use a second opinion. Want to help?"
Twilight signed her name and gave Pinkie the clipboard and pen. She was tempted to help her but the last thing she wanted to do was lose control and gorge herself again. Then again the food was delicious and it probably wouldn't take long.
