Chapter #4

You store your second head for later.

"That's not a bad idea, actually," you reply.
"I know, bro."
You get up from your bed and flick on the lights. You can't help but inspect yourselves in the mirror, now that you can see each other. Your shoulders had widened to accommodate the new head. Turning around showed that your spines fused together into a sort of "Y" shape too, making standing up unusually heavy.
"Don't know which is freakier-"
"-Having a whale tail for a spine or eight pounds on my shoulder."
The two of you try to stretch out the kinks, to no avail. Instinctively, you scratch at your belly. It had gotten thinner, as did a lot of you overall, actually.
"Having a second head must be draining out my body", you say, simultaneously. "Jinx! Shit." You share a simultaneous laugh. Still, you really do feel quite hungry. You can see what your mother meant now about how you always looked hungry, seeing the dark circles 'round Other You's eyes. It hurts to look at him, what with the strain on your shoulders.
"You think this is gonna hurt?"
"Didn't the last time."
"You know what I meant."
"Same here."
The two of you look in the mirror, to look at each other more comfortably. Neither of you had any idea if the other was actually gonna survive the ordeal, unfortunately.
But one of you was the original, and the other a curiosity. If you could, you would tap the pencil in thought, and in fact were, until you felt the tip of your finger gradually get smaller and softer. How were you gonna do this?

1. Draw something, to be safe.

2. Use the eraser.
