This choice: The feed is cut and returns to Kate and Tom. • Go Back...Chapter #5The feed is cut and returns to Kate and Tom. by: lord thanatos   As the green mist fills the screen, the feed abruptly cuts out, the scene shifting after a few tense moments back to Kate and Tom in the news room. "Hmm, we seem to be experiencing some sort of technical error folks." Tom said. "We'll let you know more about this development as soon as we can, but for now please join us as we pray for the lives of our intrepid reporters and all the people of New York city this morning after what may be a possible terrorist attack. Kate, anything to add?"
"Well Tom, judging by that green cloud we saw just before loosing contact, I think it's fair to assume that this so called meteorite may actually be some sort of space born chemical weapon, though what effect it may have on it's victims or what nation or terrorist organization may have been capable of such an attack remains unknown at this time."
"We don't actually know it was a weapon Kate, it could just as easily be some sort of fuel leak." Tom replied reprovingly. "In any event, for now we can only speculate as to the nature of these events, whether it's a mere accident or another 911. In any event we will continue to do our best to keep our viewers up to date on this situation, and will tell you more as this story develops."
The T.V. then switches to a commercial, everything around you breaking into pandemonium as you family member's express their views on the subject.
"It's the Russian's I tell you! We should have wiped them all out back when we had the chance, before the pathetic milksops in Washington decided to negotiate with them!" your father raged.
"Could be terrorists like they said pop, this seems like exactly the sort of stunt they would pull." Randell suggested.
"You're both wrong, it was probably the Chinese, some sort of orbital weapons test gone wrong." Stephanie said.
"Does it really have to be an attack? Can't we just pray for the best and hope it really was just some sort of accident?"
"I don't know if it was an accident or not, but I bet it really was aliens." Rachel said. "All that stuff about the writing was probably all just part of some sort of government cover up. I'll bet Eric agree's with me, don't you bro?" She asked, causing everyone to turn towards you, awaiting your take on the matter.
Now you're torn. After having heard what the writing says, you know for a fact that it had been meant for you, and that the events of last night hadn't all been a dream as you'd originally thought, but instead were actually very real, though what impact your decision, or lack of one rather will have on the world you couldn't say, seeing as you had foolishly told the godlike being ho had visited you last night to surprise you! The real question right now though was, should you tell your family what you know, or not? You really sure if they'd believe you in the first place, and even if they did, what then? On the other hand, they were your family, and they deserved to know, regardless of whether they believed you or not. Seeing everyone staring at you forces you to come to a decision.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
