Amy quickly retrieved her bow and arrows from the wall of her house, and donned a dull grey cloak. One might not think that one as portly as Amy would have the necessary stealth and stamina to be a hunter, but her relatively large house revealed her success. She donned her equipment quickly and made her way into the Shadewood, the large forest that had marked Mogoria's Eastern border since the kingdom had been founded.
One in the Shadewood, Amy's pace slowed dramatically. Every step she took was deliberate, and her eyes darted towards every shadow. There were good game animals to be found in the wood all days of the year, but it was also fraught with danger as well. The beasts that Amy were dangerous on their own, and there were even more intelligent and dangerous creatures that could be found. That didn't even get into the fey. It was said that they would help a traveler one day, but curse that very same traveler if they met again.
But Amy had confidence in her abilities. She had hunted for several years, and had gotten quite good at it. Even now, her ears picked up a rustle of leaves, and her eyes saw a shadow moving in the underbrush. Amy silently moved towards the source of the disturbance, nocking an arrow into her bow as she did so. When she got close enough, she saw...
