Amy watched in shock as the goblins ran off towards the nearby forest with her basket of freshly picked veggies. The nimble cretins had a quick step to them and were beyond the brush in front of the trees, leaving Amy standing in her garden to fume in silence. With a curt grumble of disappointment she stomped to the barn and went inside to grab an axe.
Weapon in hand and brow furrowed, Amy marched towards the trees with the burning resolve of a woman made to postpone her lunch. Despite there being no meal to stoke the fire in her belly Amy pressed onward as if possessed by her hunger. With each moan from her empty belly the furious farmer quickened her pace while she followed along the path the goblins took.
The forest was thick with trees and overgrown bushes, yet Amy could still see the tell-tale signs of goblins passing through. Snapped branches, bent grass and the odd carrot or potato left on the ground was evidence of a hasty and uncoordinated trek through the woods. Amy munched away on the carrot she had found. "Thank the gods, thought I was going to have to eat wood..."
After several moments of walking Amy paused and looked to the side of the path she was on. Her eyes shot open in excitement and she smiled. "Oh! Berries! I really needed a treat." Wasting no time she set her axe aside and bent down to start picking the berries from the bush. Amy licked her lips as she filled her free hand with the red berries. They looked so delightfully juicy, and the bush had an ample amount growing on it's branches.
Amy gazed at the small pile of berries she held, taking in the sight of the plump ruby orbs before she shoved them into her mouth. A light squeal of pleasure escaped Amy as she chewed on the tasty fruits, the sweet juices tingling her tongue. She began plucking more berries, tossing them into her mouth one at a time. Amy had been so enveloped with the berries she only just noticed next to the berry bush was a crudely fashioned wooden effigy. Clearly of goblin make, the effigy was several short sticks acting as legs tied together with frayed string and a longer stick bent into a loop on the top. Dried berries were pinned to the effigy in random spots. Amy raised an eyebrow and popped another berry into her mouth.
“Hmm. That's peculiar...no clue what it could mean.” Amy shrugged and stood back up, remembering she was trekking through the forest for a reason other than snacking. “Alright, time to rescue my veggies!”
It wasn't much farther from the berry bush when Amy heard cackles and hollers coming from beyond a thick growth of vines and weeds. She could see glimmers of fire flickering around what looked to be a small settlement of goblin hovels, mud constructed huts with patchy roofs and odd knickknacks strewn all over the ground. Amy crept along the outskirts of the village, trying to stay silent as possible and stifle any belches that would reveal her presence. Amy knew she had eaten her fair share of those berries but her belly was feeling oddly bloated.
“Just don't burp, Amy. Easy enough. Where are those dang veggies?”
Amy finally spotted her basket...in one of the fires burning in the village clearing. Had those mad goblins really burned her precious vegetables? Amy's grip tightened on her axe, her face growing nearly as red as the delicious berries. She almost stood up right then and there to charge into the village before seeing two goblins walk out of a hut carrying a stone platter. It was laden with food, some of it very familiar looking. An assortment of cooked vegetables, fresh looking fruits and a plump roasted bird set in the middle of it all. It was such a lavish looking meal compared to what Amy had always pictured goblins eating. This was no rock stew or steamed pinecone, they had prepared this meal with care. The goblins brought the platter over to a slightly larger hut across from where Amy had been watching, hunched down in the brush. They set the platter down in front of the entrance, a brown tarp covering the doorway. The two goblins backed away and knelt down on the ground, heads bowed slightly.
“Queen!! Meal NOW! Food ready for EAT!” The goblins that were gathered all cheered and snickered together, clapping and gnashing their teeth obnoxiously. Amy kept her eyes on the tarp as it shuffled slightly and was pushed to the side, the supposed goblin queen stepping outside before the offered meal.
“Ahh, m-my thanks to you all, honorable servants! This meal, um...it-it's heavenly. Your tributes are...are most appreciated!”
Amy squinted as she listened to the queen spout her appreciation, her voice sounding oddly shaken with a hint of annoyance. This queen didn't sound very grateful to Amy's ears, but her eyes could tell she was definitely getting her fill of “tributes”. The goblin queen's attire was an elegant pale blue dress with a light leather vest fitted over her torso. It isn't hard to be the best dressed among a gaggle of goblins, though the nearly pristine state of the queen's clothing still caught Amy off guard.
Some time must have passed when she was first gifted those clothes as they couldn't hide the swells and curves of the goblin queen's thickened figure. The leather vest was trying desperately to stay tied together and keep her set of bulging breasts confined, but each breath brought the strings taut against her emerald chest. Just below was a well fed stomach pushing forth against the delicate fabric of the dress. Her belly bunched up into a thick roll as the queen sat down to begin eating her meal.
Amy huffed as she continued to sit and watch this “queen”, growing bored and anxious as time passed.
“She's got green skin, sure...but something is up. She doesn't speak at all like a typical goblin, unless females are just...more intelligent? Hmm.”
