You decide against leaving the two halves together, and instead push the two parts away from each other, but still sitting on the bed. You then press the button on the hilt and time restarts.
The world got a little fuzzy, but everything resettled quickly. You noticed some changes. For starters, both halves of your girlfriend were now wearing different shirts and jeans, and there were two different over-the-shoulder bags. It also appeared that the two different halves were having a conversation.
"I just don't get why you find math so hard," her left half said, "it's probably the easiest class ever." "Probably for the same reason you find English so hard," her right side responded, not missing a beat. "Whatever, let's just get back to studying," her left half said, as both her halves reached into the nearest shoulder bag and pulling out matching textbooks.
As you studied, your mind began to wonder to the possibilities of this world. You weren't sure if these were separate personalities caused by the cut between the halves of the brain, or if they had developed into different people entirely. Moreover, you weren't even sure if you were dating one or both, or even if they considered themselves the same person. In the end you came up with a plan to figure out the truth without offending them.
When you were finally done studying, the two halves of your girlfriend expertly stood up without the help of the other side, and began hopping for the door with shoulder bags on. You said, "Bye honey," to which ... responded.
