sometime during the century when Aang, the last of the airbenders, froze himself and the time he was rediscovered by Katara and Sokka did the great regression occur. Normally the avatar would instantly sense what was wrong and how to fix it, given there connection to the very essence of the world. But Aang's time in the ice disrupted the cycle of existance, leaving it vulnerable to manipulation. If whatever had caused the mass infantilization was truely malicious then the very essence of the avatar and the world would be at risk.
but by the standards of the cosmos at large, it was just a prank. While Aang would always feel there was something wrong with women being babies, he would attribute it to future shock. And when the essence of the avatar passed from him to someone else, first to korra and the onwards, the babification would be considered to be normal.
now, are we gonna see an original story or an episode redone to fit the theme. And in which era, that of Aang, of Korra or an original time period after Korra leaves the earthly plane?
