Chapter #7

Company

    by: infinity421 Author IconMail Icon
Even as you awake, you register the fact that you are not alone. Opening your eyes, you realize that you are in a sterile, ascetic room with little-to-no features besides the door opposite you and the hexagons seemingly embossed into the ceiling. The room is rather spacious, you'd guess maybe ten by ten by ten feet, or possibly larger.

Looking down at your body, you realize that you have been stripped of most of your clothes, revealing your pasty-white skin. Only your jogging bottoms and, presumably, your underwear have been left in place.

Your wrists are bound in place by what feels like a metal band; handcuffs of some sort, most likely chained to the wall behind you.

Taking in a breath, you finally look at the three huge, imposing figures in from of you. You recognized two from earlier; Clover and the wolfess. Now that they were side by side, it was immediately apparent that Clover was about a head taller than the wolfess. The new figure beside them appeared to be an anthropomorphic, brown-furred horse, and was about halfway between the heights of the other two. A form-fitting black jumpsuit concealed a moderately-sized pair of breasts. The wolfess is the first one to talk, and she does so with the same hate-filled tone as before.

"Alright, you little worm, we have some questions. You're going to answer them, and then maybe we can answer some of yours.

Firstly, what's your name?"

You swallow thickly before licking your chapped lips.
"B-Branok."

"Okay, Branok. Second question. What year did the Grand Conquest take place?"

Huh?
"The what?"

The wolfess looks intensely displeased as she takes off what seems to be an earpiece, tapping at it with a finger. Scowling, she puts it back in.
"Clover, the universal translators are working properly, aren't they?"

The canary, who had been tapping away at an arm-mounted holographic panel of some kind nods.
"Y-yes, they are. It seems that either he is n-not aware of the events due to a lack of education or the phrasing has changed in this cycle. We m-may have to take him to the holosuite."

The wolfess screws up her muzzle, deep in thought. She huffs, biting her lower lip. She speaks again.
"We need to cover his eyes so he can't see where we go, in case he tries to break out. Clover, detach his restrains from the wall. Miku, cover his eyes while we walk."

The horse, Miku, quickly moves in front of you, as does Clover - albeit with some hesitation. Clover fiddles with the restraints on your wrists, detaching them from the wall, and your vision is plunged into darkness as Miku covers your eyes with her hands.

"Clover, take his restraints in front of him. Miku, cover his eyes from behind."

Clover guides you so that you are able to maneuver your arms to your front by lowering them to the floor and standing inside them, then standing up as usual. The canary takes the restraints in her grasp, indicated by a slight tug, and you're off, Miku covering your eyes the whole time.

It must be a bizarre sight to any onlookers - a half-naked human being led off somewhere while his eyes are covered not with a blindfold, but with bare hands - however, this does not seem to affect their opinion of you, which seems to be extremely negative. All throughout your short journey to the holosuite you can hear growls and mutterings, all seemingly in reaction to your presence. Finally, you come to a halt, only to be tugged forward, Miku's hands leaving your head as you move. You find yourself in a room that is almost completely black, with glowing cyan lines and patterns seeming to emulate the appearance of circuitry on the walls, floor, and ceiling. The patterns pulse with a soft light, illuminating you and your captors.

Clover fiddles with her haptic interface, and the pulsing 'circuits' begin to grow brighter, and brighter, and brighter...
