"You want me to what?!" Naruto shouted at Tsunade, his face plastered with a horrified expression. During the day, Naruto had been contacted by Shizune herself. She had relayed information that Naruto was expected to meet with Tsunade at the earliest convenience. Now, given that Tsunade was Naruto's grandmother, and considering that Tsunade had never requested Naruto to meet with her in this manner, this was something that Naruto took seriously.
Naruto could have refused, seeing as though it was his break day, but Naruto could never say no to his family. It was this characteristic of him, that unknowingly sealed his fate.
Almost as quickly as Shizune had approached Naruto at his apartment, Naruto quickly readied himself for what he believed could have been an emergency. He raced towards the Hokage Tower, zoomed past numerous security guards and busted through the doors towards the Hokage's office.
Now, Naruto expected Tsunade to have an aura of seriousness surrounding her, as she always did. Likewise, he expected Tsunade to curse him out for causing such a ruckus. But Tsunade did not even bat an eye to his antics. In fact, she almost seemed...indifferent? It made him feel a little unnerved and slightly shocked, as it was almost routine for Tsunade to screech her head off on how immature Naruto was acting.
Tsunade felt this tension within Naruto and began to explain herself. There was no mission to be undertaken. Nor was there any emergency. Instead, Tsunade wanted Naruto to consider a proposition. Due to Tsunade's age, it was relatively impossible for her to bear children. Even if Tsunade could, there were major health risks for both her and the baby.
So, Tsunade came up with a different alternative. Instead of birthing a child, she wanted Naruto to be her child. A beautiful baby boy that would be treated with the love and care that Naruto lacked as a child.
