"That must be Lily," says Maggie. "I'll get it." "That's just great." You moan. It's not that you didn't like Maggie's friend Lily, but the fact was, that minotaur was borderline insane. The woman was a conspiracy theorist who came up with the most absurd accusations. You remember one time she claimed the government was putting nebutori in the drinking water to make all women fat in order to sell them larger clothes and another time, that idiot accused the dentist of putting listening devices disguised as fillings in people's mouth. It was so ridiculous that she used a fake name from an old classmate she assumed died years ago. You wonder what Lily's parents did to her.
Then there was the fact that she always left the house smelling like an ashtray. With how much Lily smoked, she should be dead by now. Then there were the weird chicks Lily hung out with when she wasn't hanging out with Maggie, Barbara Anne and Penny and if she brought any freaks in your house... you wonder how Maggie could stand having to deal with that kook since they were kids.
Of course you let out a sigh because in a way you felt sorry for Lily. Lily was married shortly after you and Maggie were and her husband Angus, while he was good friends with you and Flint, you knew a secret about him that Lily was completely in the dark of.
A year ago when you and Maggie were invited to game night at the Oxnards', Angus told Lily that he was going to have that mechanic Moxie look at the car. Angus didn't notice it but you managed to stow away in the car hoping to get a closer look. After all, that was the fifth time that week they were having car trouble. You figured there was something Moxie wasn't doing right.
When Angus reached the gremlin's garage, you were going to accompany him out, but Moxie was already waiting. The next thing you saw completely horrified you. What Angus did with Moxie on the hood of the car was something he should only be doing with Lily in the bedroom. You were the only one who knew what was going on, but it disgusted you that Lily's husband was cheating on her for so long.
You'd tell Lily but that would be like putting extra stress on a structure that wasn't up to code to begin with. Hopefully she didn't bring Angus with her this time. You didn't want to look at a bull who wasn't faithful to his heifer.
