Chapter #5

One Of The Not So Wee Folk

    by: InfiniteBull Author IconMail Icon
You find yourself being scooped up by a giant hand. You look in fear at your captor, but are relieved to see its not Ophelia. Its a girl, and at first glance you think she's human. Then you see her pointed ears and realize she's a monster. As she walks out of the classroom you see that she's got an hourglass body with curly red hair and freckles. She's also wearing a green shirt with a matching skirt. "Um, excuse me." you call up to her. She looks down at you and smiles. "Hey little guy. I was wondering if you were gonna speak up." she says. You notice she's got a thick Irish accent. "Uh, forgive me for asking but what kind of monster are you?" you ask. The girl laughs and pats your head. "I'm a leprechaun." she says. "My name's Goldie." Getting past that you remember that you need to find your daughter.

"Now its my turn to ask questions." Goldie says before you can say anything. "Who are you?" You stand up in her hand and introduce yourself. "My name is Neil Reaver. My daughter is a student here and I kind of got stuck in her bag. We got separated and I'm trying to find her." you explain. "Whoa whoa, wait. You're a human and you have a monster for a daughter?" she says. "Well, it was sort of a miracle,." you tell her. "Wow you're a lucky guy all right." Goldie tells you. "More than you know, if you hadn't come at the right time I might have been Ms. Keys new test subject." you say. Goldie chuckles. "Well I'm glad to help." You get back to the matter at hand and ask for her help. "Do you think you could help me find my daughter?" you ask. You're unsure of the teachers, so Goldie is your best bet. "Sure, but after class. I can't be late." she says.

While Goldie sits through her class you find yourself extremely bored. It reminds you of why you're glad you're done with high school. While the teacher drones on you're in Goldie's bag. When the lesson ends she takes you out and begins searching for your daughter. "So do you have a pot of gold?" you ask her. "Yes actually. Everyone in my family has their own." she answers. "So if I catch you then you have to give it to me?" you joke. The giant leprechaun leans her face in close and gives you a stare. "Do you think you can manage to capture me?" she asks in a mock threatening tone. "Okay, point taken." you say with a laugh. "I think I'm to old to be trying to catch a young girl like you anyway." Its at that moment the bell rings for the end of the day. "Shoot! I need to get to work!" Goldie says. She looks down at you in her palm guiltily. "I'd feel a little bad if I didn't help you after I said I would." she tells you. What does she do?
