You looked up and found the permanently grinning face of your skeletal younger sister, Meryl. She looked down at you with a mischievous glint in her eyes and her arms resting behind her back.
"Hello, 'little' brother." Meryl greeted you in a sing-song, teasing voice.
You sighed but smiled at her. "Hey, Meryl. Still finding that joke funny, are you?"
"Of course. Have you learned nothing from our childhood?"
You shrugged in defeat. "Fair enough. So, how you doing today?"
Meryl bent down to speak closer with you. "Alright. Is it ok if I go inside with you? I need to borrow something from Maggie."
You grinned slyly at her. "I don't know. That 'little' joke is still stinging a bit."
Meryl gave you the puppy dog eyes. "Oh, come on. Please, big brother sir.."
On the one hand you were enjoying playing around with your sister. Just like old times.
"I'll bring the paper in for you." Meryl folded her hands in a begging position.
But on the other hand. You were getting tired from pulling the giant paper.
"Alright. But only because I like making you do stuff for me." You said sitting on the paper and waiting for pick up.
Meryl giggled and nodded as she pick up the paper, with you on it, and walked inside.
"Hello, monsters!" Meryl cried as she enter the kitchen with you sitting on her bony shoulder.
Maggie smiled at her. "Morning, Meryl."
"Morning, Maggie." Meryl replied cheerfully. "I was wondering if I could borrow some threat. Emerald tore a bit of her wrist on a nail. Nothing major."
If you had heard that same sentence 20 years ago and didn't know Meryl's daughter was a Ragdoll monster, you may have been freaked out a 'torn wrist'.
"Sure thing. Sapphire, dear. Can you grab Meryl a spindle out of the closet?"
"Ok, mom." And your daughter left on her mission.
Meryl gentle picked you off her shoulder and handed you over to Maggie with the paper. As you stepped onto Maggie's paw you saw her give you a small crooked smile. That's when it struck you that there would be much teasing over your 'Newspaper Adventures' later. For now, though, Maggie was more interested in the newspaper. She placed you on her nose so you could read along with her. The head line story caught your attention at once...
