"So, can I turn in all my cards?" you ask.
"Nope," Sam says. "One, two or three cards. Four cards if you have an Ace. But that's it."
"Excuse me, but are you playing?" Lilith asks.
"No, but---" Sam replies, but Lilith cuts her off.
"Then you don't get a say," Lilith says, maybe a little too nastily, at least in your opinion.
Lara looks like she wants to intervene, but doesn't know how. Once again, it's up to Elizabeth to play diplomat. Which kind of surprises you. I mean, yes, she can put her emotions aside when she wants to, and she's got that reserved, pseudo English woman thing going, but on the other hand, you've seen her tell someone what a dumbass they were...in that witty reserved pseudo English woman way.
"Perhaps it would be best if we see if there is a consensus among the players to allow this," Elizabeth began. "We are, after all, not playing a conventional game. Here, the objective is not to have the highest hand, but to avoid the lowest. Given that, I would say that a few deviations from the regular rules should be allowed."
"Yeah, I'm all for that," Lilith chimes in. "How about you, Zoey?"
"I'm good with that. Lara?" All the women are looking at Lara, who must be torn right now, you think.
Finally, Lara says, "Yeah, okay," This gets a look of betrayal from Sam, and a snicker from Lilith.
You were tempted to take back your request when the argument began, but when Lilith made such a strong stand, you didn't really want to get involved in the argument that looked like was going to get explosive. You turn in all five of your cards and get:

When everyone shows their hand, you end up having the worst. With a sigh, you take off your baseball cap.
"Awww, don't sweat it kid," Lilith laughs, as she leans over to tousle your hair. "You got good looking hair anyway." You blush and duck your head, which makes Lilith laugh even harder. You're just happy to get a new hand dealt to you.
