Lilith took a long drag off her cigarette and blew a few smoke rings as she looked at the snowy hellscape just outside the doorway. A long trail of blood, guts and dead bodies ran from the sidewalk all the way up to right in front of the barstool she was currently sitting at. To be honest, neither option sounded all that great to her, but if the group didn't decide what to do soon they might lose their chance.
"Well?" Dan asked impatiently as he folded his arms and took a seat across from Lilith. Just as Lilith opened her mouth to reply a scream echoed from near the back of the building. "Oh shit, Ming!" Eddie yelled as he rushed towards the back with Mike right behind him. "Fuck, not more of this bullshit!" Dan grumbled as he hopped to his feet and followed behind them. Lilith just let out an annoyed sigh as she sat up and headed back just behind Dan.
A young woman in her late twenties was screaming in fear as an elderly man with a bloody mouth and ragged white hair tried desperately to rip her throat out. Her switchblade had fallen out of sight behind the boxes in the closent when she had gotten jumped and now she was only seconds away from death as the ghoul closed in on her terrified face.
"Let go of her, you bastard!" Eddie screamed as he lunged at the man and tackled him to the wall in one quick motion. Ming fell to the ground as he delivered a sharp right hook to the zombie's screeching face. Blood and teeth painted the wall as Mike reached down to help Ming up just as Dan and Lilith arrived on the scene. With one last powerful maneuver Eddie slammed the walking corpse to the ground and stomped its brains in.
"Thanks...Jesus." Ming muttered as Eddie began panting over the remains of the elderly man in front of him. "Ho-ly shit." Dan whispered as Eddie turned to face them. "You okay Ming?" he asked as he rubbed his bruised fist. "Yeah, Eddie." she replied as she struggled to catch her breath. "I thought we were clear... the damn thing snuck up on me."
Mike rubbed his forehead. "That was too close, this damn place isn't safe... we need to go before another one of those things sneak up on us." He looked around the room as all eyes fell to him, some with argreement and some with apprehension. "It isn't safe." he repeated as he turned to walk back towards the front of the bar. "I'm gonna begin packing, we leave in an hour."
