You have a bizarre dream. Pieces of it are from the life of Sam and others are from your old life as Matt. It seems like your mind is trying to sort through the jumbled mess of your newly combined being in order to lock down some sense of identity.
You relive parts of Matt and Sam's first date, but you are both Matt and Sam. You know what both are thinking and how each is feeling. You relive the first kiss you shared and find yourself overwhelmed by the sensation and synergized feelings. Suddenly you are alone in your spiritual recess. You identify yourself as Sam, but you now can clearly reference all of Matt's memories, thoughts, and feelings. "Matt?" you call out. "Where are you?" There comes no response. "That's right," you somberly affirm. "Matt doesn't exist anymore."
You wake up to find that you are back in your bedroom. You wonder, was it all just a dream? You can feel the soft bed sheets against your naked body and Matt's arm comfortably wrapped around you. "Hey babe," he says into your ear as he awakens too. You feel his naked body lean in against you from behind.
As you suddenly realize it was no dream, you scramble away from the imposter Matt. "Who are you?" you shout in your frenzy.
"Babe? Is something wrong?" replies the imposter. "It's me, Matt."
"You're not Matt." you say.
Suddenly Matt's face twists back again into a smug smirk. "Well," he says with a chuckle. "I'm Matt now."
With this you snap. Just a moment ago you felt so peaceful, but now the anger of past-Matt takes full control. "Fuck you!" you scream as you lunge at imposter Matt. You begin to repeatedly hit him, but he is unfazed by each blow. "Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you..." you yell as your shouting becomes sobbing and feelings of sorrow replace your rage.
Imposter Matt wraps his arms around you and pulls you into his embrace. You rest your head upon his chest and cry. You can feel his heartbeat.
You look up into Matt's eyes. How strange, you think, only yesterday that was your face, but as Sam you also recognize it as the face of your loving boyfriend. You feel confused and vulnerable, and you find yourself yearning for that same feeling of safety as when he carried you home yesterday.
Matt brings a hand to your cheek. It's comforting. He leans in and kisses you, and you kiss him back. You don't resist. You don't want to resist.
You pull away from his kissing and lie back upon the bed. Matt is now over you. Looking up at him, your mind is blank, but you feel so warm inside. He lowers himself down and kisses your navel and then kisses you again even lower. He continues to move down, and your anticipation builds until you suddenly feel his tongue caress your insides. You moan as he continues to pleasure you. The warmth in your body is now a raw heat.
Matt raises back up and looks to you. You feel so hot and your breathe feels heavy, but you need more. Without saying a word you reposition yourself and spread your legs to receive him. Matt eases into you and begins to thrust. You moan louder now and begin to buck your hips with the motion. Wrapping you legs around his waist and pulling yourself up by his shoulders, you begin to kiss Matt again as you continue to grind your hips upon him.
After you've climaxed, you both lay in bed for awhile. Neither of you say anything and just enjoy the afterglow. Eventually you leave to the shower. You follow the original Sam's standard process of showering, cleaning yourself, and remembering to take your birth control pills. All of this feels strangely new and foreign to you yet also completely familiar and natural. You feel your mind fog up again as your memories try to further organize themselves.
Looking in the mirror you study Sam's face. "That's right," you reassure yourself. "I'm Sam." Still, you wondered, were things okay like this? Was there even anything you could do about it?
You wrap yourself in your bathrobe and return to the bedroom where Matt is still relaxing in bed. First, you figured, you should find out who this new Matt is.
"So, Matt..." you say. "Who are you really?"
Matt smirks as he looks up at you. "I'm..."
