Spider god may be best

"I have been sent from and alien world 5.7 billion light years away. That planet is very technologically advanced with godlike technology, however we don't know what do with all the technology. We made few very bad mistakes, ones that ruined whole planets. We considered just ending the whole species, or reverting to the stone age. I proposed a third option to find some entity so watch over and glide the civilization, and protect all the others. A being of supreme power, size, intelligence and kindness. In brief, a god," explained the orb.

"But why me?" asked the spider.

"I've been trying this with beings across the universe, I found it works best with beings that weren't sapient at the beginning. They have no preconceptions and show no favour or bias. I randomly selected you planet from trillions of life baring planets and landing at a random place on the surface, weighted by amount of living things. You were the first being touch this cube and thus were selected," narrated the orb.

"So it could been any creature of nearly any species on any planet," clarified the spider.

"Yep, all the candidates have been chosen at random from all other the universe" confirmed the orb.

"There, was other before me, what happened to them?" asked spider, slightly worried

"Those that you make little or no progress as gods and their godification tech turned off and there live as regular citizens in my civilisation. Those that make some progress, maybe growing all the way to planet size, they look after a small small part of our galaxies spanning civilisations, a town, a province, a continent, maybe and planet or two, helping keep things in order until I find a being with true god potential," reassured the orb.

"I might end up planet sized," said the spider excitedly

"If you become the god we need you will end up as big as universes," tempted the orb.

"So what do I do to become the god you need and grow so big?" asked the spider.

"Its a simple system if you do things for which an living being is grateful you grow bigger, stronger and smarter and more powerful in every way. You do things that makes people sad, afraid or revolted or grow smaller, a lot smaller. The more powerful the feels and power beings feel them the more you grow and shrink. The shrinking effect is much more powerful or could make 100 people as grateful as you made one sad and you'll only just break even," warned the orb.

"So do good, get big," surmised the spider.

"Pretty much," confirmed the orb.

"Guess I'm ready to get started," suggested the spider.

"We're warping to a semi random place in Protectorate space" informed the orb

Where did they end up?
