In a whole in the ground in a forest somewhere a tiny tiny egg hatched. A tiny wolf spider came out, barely a millimeter across. Its mama, much bigger then the spiderling but still only 15 millimeters across looked down on the spider with infinite compassion and patience.
Mama spider picked up the spiderling in her palps and put it on her back. There were so many brothers and sisters on mama it was getting crowded.
"Mama crowded" though the spiderling it things that weren't even words yet "make more mama."
The spiderling wanted more mama and so more mama there shall be. Mama spider tripled in size to 2 inches across her back was now roomy.
"Mama bigger. Mama bigger" cheered all the spiderlings on mama back pleasantly surprised to have more mama. Even the spiderling with the power of size was surprised at it didn't even know it had the power yet yet alone be able to control it at will. Instead when the spider wanted somethings size changed it just happened. The spider also like having more mama but only a little bit so mama would grow slowly.
Mama spider then looked for water for all her babies. Using her bigger eyes she found it quickly. It was a little puddle in a knot of wood in a tree root. She let the spiderlings down to drink looking out of any danger. They climbed down her legs having no problem even as she grew to 2 and 1/2 inches across as they were spiders.
The spiderling wasn't used to walking and so was slowest. By then time it go there there was only moistness left.
"Want more water" thought the spider and more water there was as the knot filled up with water again. The spiderling drank its fill and so did all its siblings. Even mama spider had a drink after doing a little happy dance because of string of good luck it had just had.
The spiderlings then climbed back on mama back. She was now 3 inches across.
It was time for her to hunt for herself, whilst also slowing the spiderlings how to spider.
