Despite the warm, almost humid weather, Vanessa shivered. She'd found that weird store while taking a walk through the city, and gone in out of boredom. Now, she wasn't so sure it was the right choice. The whole place had just felt... wrong, as nice as the old man had been. All that talk of 'power' and 'consequences'... it was all a bit too much for Vanessa.
Still, maybe it wasn't a complete loss, Vanessa mused as she held up the supposed "Luck Amulet," tucking it's cloth bag into her purse. A yellow, polished gem, set in silver, hung from a silver chain. Along the length of it, strange symbols were inscribed, though Vanessa couldn't understand them. It looked strange, certainly... but not bad. Alluring, in a mysterious sort of way.
Eh, why not? Vanessa thought, placing it around her neck. It went well with her white blouse, unbuttoned enough that her new accessory was just visible above the neckline. "Maybe I could use a bit of luck," she commented aloud. As a college student living in the city, Vanessa was having fun, but lately she'd been doing nothing but study. Her classes had eased up for a little while, but that simply left her with nothing to do. Now, with her new, purportedly lucky charm, maybe Vanessa could get a little excitement in her life.
