Two blocks away, in a typical neighborhood vacant lot, two twelve year old boys were playing catch. The lot was mostly empty, aside from two trees near the tall wooden fence that enclosed it. The ground in the middle of the area was covered mostly with dirt; likely caused by kids consistently playing sports on it. The parameter of the lot was the only area that had grass.
The sun was high and the nearby road was quiet. The two boys had been visiting the lot every day to play catch and enjoy the summer.
Andrew wiped a bit of sweat from his forehead before catching the oncoming baseball in his mitt. The boys were going to be entering the eighth grade after summer was over.
A flapping sound came from Ryan's mitt as he caught the incoming ball. He pinched and the front of his shirt and brought it up to his face to dry off the sweat that had been accumulating on his face.
"Dude, wanna take a break? I'm thirsty" Ryan panted
"Yeah, sounds good" Andrew had just been ready to ask the same thing.
The boys walked over to the nearby wooden fence where they had placed their water bottles.
"Guuuhh~" Ryan muttered as he collapsed onto the ground, resting his back up against the fence.
"It's really hot to day, huh?" Andrew followed suit.
"Yeah, but at least it's not raining." Ryan retorted
"That's true" Andrew replied before guzzling down the water from his bottle
*gulp gulp* "Gahhhhhh~" the pre-teen loudly hissed.
"So, what do you wanna do after this?" Andrew asked as he brushed aside his sweaty bangs.
"I dunno...Wanna come over and play that new game I got?" Ryan replied
"Yeah sure. A little AC would be great~"
Not long after the two friends stood up and began to head out of the lot, Ryan noticed something odd over towards the baseball diamond where they had just been playing.
"Wait...Dude, what the heck is that???" Ryan extended out his right arm in front of his friend's chest, halting him in place.
"Huh?? What's what?" Andrew asked, as he looked towards the direction his friend was pointing to.
There was something odd floating about a foot off the ground between home base and the pitcher's mound.
Whatever it was, it appeared flat and disk shaped, and it was surrounded by a strange blue glow.
"Wooooah. What the hell is that???" Andrew muttered as he and Ryan hesitantly began walking over towards the mysterious object.
