Chapter #5

Misuto's stomach starts growling on the way...

    by: ThePencil Author IconMail Icon
After a short walk, RJ and Misuto arrived at his door. As RJ set the luggage down gently, and fumbled with the keys, he heard a low, guttural noise, almost like a growl. Looking for the source of the noise, he noticed the foreign vixen cover her mouth with one of the kimono's long sleeves, embarrassed. With a cough, she turned her gaze away from his.

"Oh!... ahem... you hungry, Misuto?" upon seeing her affirmative response, RJ chuckled, fitting the key into his door. "It's alright, I can order some takeout if you want, I'm not much of a cook anyways. Want some japanese noodles?"

"I-I do not mean to impose, it is true I am your roommate, but I can pay for my half." she replied, pouting. Something in the back of RJ's mind found her expression to be... cute. Seeing this golden-furred fox of a woman, clad in a traditional piece of clothing, pouting and speaking with a slight accent was kinda cute. It reminded him of those japanese anime shows, he mused to himself. "...besides, I do not think you would be able to pay for my meal."

Cocking his eyebrow, RJ gaver her a confused stare. Was she that big of an eater? The Japanese noodle shop near Furdale Towers was not that expensive, either. With a shrug, he gestured to her with his head pointing at the now-opened door, and picked the luggage back up. With a polite (if somewhat frantic) nod, Misuto entered the premises, followed by the room's original tenant.

"Thank you very much, RJ. Miss Zelda said you were a bit troublesome, but I guess she was just exaggerating." like a refined lady, she sat herself gently on the old loveseat RJ had in the living room. Oddly enough, the old piece of furniture creaked as she sat, as if she was really heavy, creating something of a tense moment in the room. Coughing again and covering her muzzle with the kimono's sleeve, she turned away, as if finding the paintings on the wall to be interesting works of art. With another shrug, you head to the telephone and look through the contact notebook.

"It's okay, that couch is pretty old, don't worry about it." is what he said. In his head though, he pondered about the times he sat on it and it had never given so much of a creak. Having found the noodle shop's number, he started dialing the digits, and soon enough, the voice of a polite senior was speaking on his ear. "Hello? 'Afternoon, Mr. Sato. Yeah, I'd like to place an order, just the usual soup with noodles, corn, and pork. Yes of course, no wasabi. Hang on, I have someone else here with an order, I'll pass to her." and with that, he handed the phone to Misuto, who took it with an eager look on her face. Saying something that sounded like 'moshi moshi', she began speaking in Japanese, seemingly happy at hearing someone communicating in her native language. After a few minutes of her describing her order, she finished, and handed RJ the phone back. "Hello? Oh, eh... she's a new roommate the landlady arranged for me to share the room with. Yeah, I'll... what. She ordered THAT much? I... fine, I mean, I'm in no rush... really? But I... alright, thanks. See you."

RJ put the phone back in its base, and regarded his roomie with a dumbfounded expression, and the vixen, wagging her tails from side to side, smiled. "I told you, you wouldn't be able to pay for all of that. So, for your help carrying my luggage here, the meal's on me today." RJ had no words. He just scratched his head, and sighed. "He also said the order would be delivered here in twenty minutes, so, until then... do you happen to have....s-some snacks? I'm still a bit hungry." Still looking at her warily, he nodded and gestured for her to follow.

"Might as well give you the tour of the place. Come on, I have some chips in the pantry." and with that, she got back up and followed him, tails wagging.

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. RJ shows her the house, and where she'll sleep.

*Pen*
2. Skip the house tour and the wait, meal's here. What happens?

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
