Tell Lucy the truth about the katana

"Lucy, can you keep a secret?"
"Yep."
You sighed a huge breath of relief. "Oh, thank god."
"What is it?"
"Come to my room, I have something to show you."

The two of you went upstairs to your room, and you got out the hilt.

"Um, okay? You wanted to show me a broken sword?" she asked.

You held out the hilt.

"Lucy, hold onto this and don't let go until I say so. No matter what happens."

She shrugged and held onto the hilt along with you. You pressed the button. As soon as the blade popped out, Lucy flinched, but didn't let go.

"Okay, now you may let go."

Lucy quickly pulled her hand away.

"What the hell is that thing?"

You picked up the note that came with the katana.

"Well, according to this, it's a Reality-Altering Laser Katana. And apparently it also has several settings."

"Oh, please. This has to be a practical joke."

"I would have thought so too, but look outside."

Lucy looked out your bedroom window, and was surprised to see everything frozen in place. Even the clouds.

"Wow. Is the whole world on pause or something?"

"Well, yes. At least, until I press the red button again. In the meantime, we could make a cut or two with the sword..."

Lucy turned around and said...
