Opening the door, an overwhelming mixture of fear and excitement sweeps over you as you see Tora standing before you.
"Hi." Tora looks decidedly unimpressed with you, even though there is a slight smile on her face. You can't deny how beautiful she is: her light brown eyes bear into you as you stare at her pale features, slender body and bare feet. Yep - she has already taken her shoes off and is holding them casually in one hand.
You honestly don't know what to say; after texting her about having a girlfriend, the last thing you expected was her turning up at your door!
Still staring, you recover yourself and manage to splutter back, "Hey."
"Hey?" Tora continues to smile but look a little incredulous at the same time. "Hey? You just tried to knock me off with some excuse of having a girlfriend. I come over to yours and all you can say is 'hey'?"
You start to feel a little nervous. Tora always seems to hold some power over you. Gulping, you're still unsure of the best way to deal with this; it's as though you are not in clear possession of your thoughts!
"So, what? You're just gonna stand there and stare at me?" Tora narrows her eyes at you.
"Sorry," you finally manage to articulate. "Come in."
"That's better," she grins at you. You half go for a hug as she walks towards you, but she quickly brushes past and puts her shoes and handbag on the floor at the end of the hall, then makes her way into the lounge.
Following her, you still can't quite believe that your ex-girlfriend from over a year ago has turned up like this, and is already calling the shots. Tora sits herself on your couch and crosses her legs elegantly. Sitting on a chair opposite her, you gaze at her beautiful face, wondering what she will say next.
"Ross. I've gotta say I'm disappointed," She stares across at you, one foot swaying back and forth, almost hypnotically. "When I text you, I was expecting you to comply immediately. And what do you do? Give me some flimsy excuse, then pretend you have a girlfriend?"
You have to interrupt her here. "Hang on a sec-"
"You're not gonna tell me you actually have a girlfriend now, really? You?" Her eyes shine and smile widens.
You're stung by her words. But then you think is it worth keeping your girlfriend out of this for now...
