Against your better judgment, it looked like your best chance of survival would be to get a giants attention, or at least make them aware of the rogue lizard crawling on their floors so they could put it back in its cage or wherever it came from. You back away slowly from the curious gecko, hands up in a calming gesture in a desperate bid to buy you any time at all before it inevitably came at you. You could tell it was getting past curiosity now, and was close to deciding whether you were going to be its food, as it followed the pace of your steps toward you.
The girls continue to chatter and laugh among themselves, making you a little angry that they were so oblivious to the standoff happening below them. At this point, you had exited the confines of the gap between the cupboard and fridge and had now officially entered the open floor of the kitchen with stomping feet. With your ears you listened for any indication a foot was coming your way, and with your eyes, you kept them locked on the lizards. The two of you stared each other down as you continued moving in the direction of the girls. A quick peek back with your peripheral vision, told you you were getting very close to one of them, so the time to make a move was coming very soon, lest you wait too long and either get eaten or smashed into paste under the weight of a giant teenager.
A few more steps backward and you reciting hail marys three times in your head, you turn and enter into a full on sprint toward the closest foot you could! The gecko followed suit, and it didn't have to sprint to keep up with you (come to think of it.. you weren't even sure a leopard gecko could sprint), and it wasn't long before it was nipping at your heels.
The targeted foot was close enough now, so with all the strength you could come up with, you leap from the floor and cling onto...
