Perks of the nomadic lifestyle ranged far and wide. Your most favoured was the freedom it entails; no distractions, only living off your wits and doing as you please. But in order to succeed, wits is one thing you need plenty of, so the first order of business should be establishing a home base.
Your next door neighbor; Ashley, a young woman of 26 kept her yard in excellent condition, with the two big pros being a small yet lavish vegetable garden, and a miniature lighthouse decoration she kept not far from it beside her tool shed. In a conversation the two of you had, Ashley had mentioned her mother dropping that off one day and that she had to be careful not to break it since the inside was hollow. It was hard to keep that spark of excitement you felt off your face when you heard that. So long as no dangerous insects have already taken up inside, you should be able to claim it as a home base and fortify it later on. The game plan was coming together so you move further into the thick grass, using the wooden fence that towered beyond as a waypoint.
You can hear the chirps of birds and morning bugs. The morning is humid and you can see the dew that covers the tall grass tree's, glimmering under the bright light of the sun. As you passed certain stalks off grass, you would scoop an amount of dew into your flask for later. Bu the time you reached the threshold of the fence, your water rations were basically overflowing. At the moment, things were looking good.
"Here goes", you say to yourself as you walk under the fenceline and officially trespass into Ashley's property. It was a solace to think that she wouldn't mind . . . in fact, since she was a bit of a conservationist herself, you were sure if she found out, she would be honored you chose her yard as the proving grounds for such an environmental breakthrough!
Upon entering the yard, you found a problem you should have seen coming. How in the hell were you supposed to find the garden from down here? Ashley's grass was even thicker than yours, that even the light of the sun was obscured and the ground was cloaked in shade. To add even more difficulty, the ground must have been watered lately because it was full of mud!
Wandering around blindely was not a course of action you were willing to take.
