Charlotte came into work one day wielding another device, sort of like an iphone. It could bring up images of any two people and their body parts could be highlighted and swapped. The changes would then happen in reality by way of a morphing process. Charlotte had already wrought havoc on her family at home with her new toy, leaving them unaware of their changes. And now... she was at work, itching to use it again.
Charlotte's co-workers would remain oblivious to what was in store for them. The rowdy, and at times immature teenager that always got on their nerves, now had something to use on them. And she could not wait.
"Hey Aaron, you gonna actually grow a personality today?" Was the first thing Charlotte said, when she saw Aaron placing empty cages on the back of the delivery truck, with help from the truck driver of course.
"Huh?" Aaron responded, the insult going over his head.
"Never mind. Carry on dragging your knuckles on the floor." Charlotte sighed, rolling her eyes. "Idiot."
Charlotte then went onto the shop floor, and looked around. Sure enough, the store was closed since it was after trading hours. So only her co-workers were walking around doing their work. Charlotte chuckled at the thought of another kind of 'trading' that would soon be happening. As she walked towards the front of the shop and the door leading upstairs to the tea room, cloakroom, toilets and manager's office, Charlotte saw two men in dark blue overalls over in a corner. Obviously theyw ere electricians doing some work in the store.
As she walked upstairs, Charlotte got her new 'iphone' from her pocket and turned it on. A toothy grin appeared on her face, which she still had when she walked into the cloakroom to put her bag and coat in her locker. She actually had butterflies in her stomach. Was she looking forward to using her new toy on her co-workers that much? Apparently so.
She went and had a pee, washed her hands, and then went down onto the shop floor to start 'work'. She found Liz in the Goods In area, talking to Aaron about something. The delivery truck was just leaving the store now. "What am I doing Liz?" Charlotte asked, reluctantly getting her tasks for the evening.
"You can help Steven and Helen on the Seasonal department. There's a lot to do on there tonight." Liz told her.
"Okay dokey!" Charlotte nodded, giving a mock salute and a grin.
