During the bus ride home, Madeleine kept pointing out various other passengers and asking if Charlotte wanted traits from them. Charlotte didn't think any of them were that attractive, but mostly she just wasn't sure if she was ready for this. After a long day of work she was too tired to deal with this right now. Finally they arrived at Charlotte's home, where she lived with her family still. She expected to part ways with Madeleine now, but she was sticking around.
"So… My mom said it was ok if I stayed over with you tonight, if you want me to? We can talk about all the things you want to improve!" Maddy asked, acting strangely nervous.
"Oh? Sure we haven't had a sleepover in a long time, I'm sure my mom's cool with it. Just ignore my annoying brother who's home from university this week."
"Oh he's home from school? Hmm… well great! This should be fun, we can stay up all night… or you know… you could fall asleep early cause you're probably tired from work… but hey it'll still be fun!" Maddy said, sounding a bit unsure of herself.
Charlotte's mom was perfectly fine with it, and they immediately rushed to Charlotte's room. Her brother was shut away in his bedroom and they didn't even notice he was there yet.
"Right! So where do we stand then?" Maddy said when they had shut the door for privacy.
Charlotte plopped down on her bed, looking up at the ceiling, exhausted from today. "Do we have to start now? I'm so damn tired…"
"Oh come on it's easy. We just need to figure out some easy things to start you off with. Come on I want my friend to look beautiful! If you don't tell me by tomorrow maybe I'll just start picking for you! I mean you could stand to have a new hairstyle for starters," Maddy said, running her hands through Charlotte's brown hair.
Charlotte simply laid there, feeling a bit uncomfortable as Maddy began touching her in other places, when mentioning Charlotte's inadequacies.
"Your boobs are small and could be a few sizes bigger." Maddy said, poking Char in the boob. "Your butt… ehh… yeah that definitely needs replacement." She said, patting Char in the butt, "And you are just not in good shape. Just look at you, you need to start working out!" She put her hands on either side of Char's waist.
"Alright stop it! Ok I get it! I have a lot of problems! You don't have to brag that you have an amazing body. I don't exactly have time to go to the gym all the time like you, and keep in shape! And it's not like I'm fat I'm just…" Charlotte said, getting very frustrated.
"It's ok, Charlotte calm down. I wasn't always this fit you know? Swapping physical attributes isn't the only thing I can do. I can swap mental things as well… When I saw a girl who was jogging and was in excellent shape, I wondered if I could get her ambition to exercise a lot, and it worked! Once reality changed, it was like I'd always been that motivated to exercise, and my body became toned and fit almost instantly! Plus it has the added benefit of keeping me active and maintaining this body so I don't lose it. We can do the same for you if you want? I would love to see you in better shape Char…" Maddy said, forgetting that she still had her hands on Charlotte's hips, and awkwardly removing them.
"Wait you can change mental traits too…? So you could change it so a person thinks a certain way?" Charlotte said, wondering why Maddy had been so touchy with her lately.
"It sounds scary I know, but it's really quite harmless. For example, I can do things like swap our taste in music, or swap how good we are at algebra." Maddy said with a shrug.
"That sounds dangerous… I want you to use it on me right now." Charlotte asked.
"What? You mean like a swap between you and me? A mental one?" Maddy asked, unsure of where she was going with this.
"Mental or physical, whatever. The only time I've seen this work was when you made my boobs grow, and I can't even be sure that really happened. I want you to show me a more drastic change. Show me what you can really do!" Charlotte insisted.
