I yawned, thinking it would be another crazy storm. I knew Alex's machine could overload if lightning struck, but I needed to finish my research. I rubbed my eyes as lightning flashed. yep, that would be one heck of a storm.

I closed my books and put them away, but I had forgotten to disconnect the machine from the computer. as I remembered, a bright flash of lightning signaled that it struck the lightning rod we had, which meant it would go through the houses electrical circuits...uh oh...

I blacked out as the machine whirled on.
