If they had been sober, the scene before them would have automatically halted them. They would have begun silently praying the cameras wouldn't suddenly turn towards them and zoom. Or hope these were establishing shots for a pre-recorded newscast to be aired later that could edit them out if they had been captured. Or for a live broadcast, that it would be on delay and they could be covered with a mosaic. But then, if they had been sober, they wouldn't be here in the first place.
Instead, with the alcohol clouding their minds, all they saw was opportunity. They wanted a live, wanted no delay in the feed. Even if the on-site team was composed enough to react instantly, Crystal and the band's name would still reach out to every viewer. It was a golden ticket to fame that could only be screwed up by an opportunity to edit. The approach would be rude and was bound to cost them a few fans, but publicity was publicity. Plus, by a stroke of good luck, they were even given the chance to piggy back this on the broadcaster's fame.
After a friendly rival's massive success with culturally and politically motivated, Total Breakdown opted to throw in their two cents and try to fast track their stardom the same way. Step one was, naturally, watch the news more often. This led them right to Mackenzie Fairbairn, a fellow rising star. Between her good looks and her devotion to the truth, she was quickly becoming the most popular newscaster in the city, and some were certain she'd reach the national level within the year. The musicians' political song was still withstanding, but maybe they wouldn't need it anymore.
Crystal turned back to her bandmates, nodding her head towards the cameras. A glint appeared in each of their eyes, even Aimee's. A grin spread across each of their faces, silently agreeing to force their way into this broadcast for some free publicity. Be it a surge of adrenaline, the call of the limelight, or just the alcohol, Total Breakdown's bare bodies failed to be factored into this decision. However, three of them had considered Mackenzie's bare body, or soon to be bare anyway.
During all of this and despite the slapping of their feet against the pavement, Mackenzie and the others had yet to notice anything. Now just out of reach, Crystal shifted to a full sprint and made for Mackenzie, screaming "TOTAL BREAKDOWN!" at the top of her lungs while she pulled on...
