Within short order, the team found themselves in front of the bathouse dungeon, where Kanji's Shadow once ruled. Its former master was long since gone, but the air was just as thick with hot, moist steam as it was before, slowly flowing out the entrance. No doubt the inside was just as thick with Shadows, but they were confident that they wouldn't be a problem even with their outdated equipment, as a quick scan from Rise confirmed. The team split up, with Yu, Yosuke, Chie, and Naoto heading inside, while Yukiko, Kanji, and Teddie waited outside as backup with Rise.
Rise summoned her persona and began relaying information to the team as she always did. However, with such weak enemies being fought, she began to grow lax, her mind subconsciously beginning to wonder. Not helping was that none of her friends outside were being particularly talkative either, especially Kanji, who always seemed nervous around this place. It made sense though, as she, Yukiko, and Naoto also had similar reservations with their Shadow's dungeons. But even though she could sympathize, She couldn't help but wonder just what had happened here. If it was anything like her own experience...
But before Rise could continue her speculation, she noticed something odd. Yu and the others' presences in the dungeon were diminishing. That never happened before! Pushing further with her persona, she felt something clouding up her vision. Flinching, she pulled back and performed a wider area scan.
Her face grimaced as she saw the results. All vision from the 4th floor onwards, where the party had just entered, had become blurry! She could still feel her friends, but their signatures were getting fainter with every second.
"Rise-chan!" Yukiko's voice shouted, shattering her concentration.
"W-What?" Rise gasped, as her vision returned to that of the dungeon's entrance area. Her allies soon came back into focus, allowing her to notice that they were all staring-
